Whatnot Heads To The National 2024
Every second a sports or trading card is sold on Whatnot. And every summer, the Whatnot community and the hobby at large gather at the largest sports card and memorabilia convention in the U.S: The National Sports Collectors Convention. This year, we’re headed to Cleveland, Ohio from July 24-28. As the Whatnot team gears up to bring you a game-changing experience, we can’t help but reminisce on previous years and look forward in anticipation of this year's event.
Throwback to ‘23
2023 at the National in Chicago was an event to remember. Our sellers brought the energy, the camaraderie, and oh yeah we also brought a car previously owned by Michael Jordan. We took attendees all the way back to the 90s with a throwback-themed booth that amplified the nostalgic feel of sports that we all know and love. With a sea of ‘Whatnot yellow’ blasting through the breakers pavilion, the sports community on Whatnot showed out big time and made it clear that we have a lot to live up to for 2024.
What The National ‘24 Has In Store
This year we are hosting the first-ever Breakers Bowl with a grand prize you have to see to believe, and one of our top sellers is attempting to break a Guinness World Record. And of course, we’ll get to hang out and make memories with our incredible community.
The Breakers Bowl
We’ll be hosting our inaugural Breakers Bowl—an on-platform and IRL action-packed celebration of sports cards for Whatnot sellers of all sizes. This is a live-selling showdown that gives sellers a chance to win the ultimate chase of a Tesla Cybertruck. Each order a seller completes will provide them with one entry to winning the epic prize. Backyard Breaks x Guinness World Record
We’re teaming up with Backyard Breaks to help them break the world record for ‘the most trading card packs sold during a live commerce event’ on Saturday, July 27 exclusively on the Whatnot app. Even better, every pack that’s sold will be donated to children's charities to help bring joy to children in need.
