Product Spotlight: Top 5 Features to Attract Buyers, Post-Show Metrics, and a New Direct Messages Inbox
This month, we’re recapping the top five features to attract buyers, as well as introducing new features to help you gain more visibility into your post-show performance, and allowing a better messaging experience for communicating with your buyers.
Your Top 5 Go-To Features to Attract Buyers
Running a successful business on Whatnot means juggling a lot—from sourcing and shipping to hosting and building community. But if there’s one thing that drives everything forward, it’s your ability to attract and retain buyers. The stronger your buyer base, the more your business can grow.
That’s why we’ve built tools specifically designed to help you stand out, reward loyalty, and boost visibility—whether you’re looking to spark urgency, run strategic promotions, or keep your buyers coming back for more.
Here are 5 must-use features to help you turn browsers into buyers, and first-timers into repeat customers.
Coupons - Incentivize buyers with custom deals by using seller-created discounts, where you can set eligibility criteria, including buyer types, specific live shows, or minimum purchase amounts
Flash Sales - Move discounted inventory quickly by selling a quantity of listings at a discounted price for a set limited time. Leverage this customizable feature where you can select the discount type, quantity, length of flash sale, and max purchase limit.
Rewards Club - Your tailored loyalty program allows you to create custom achievement requirements that buyers can complete to advance tiers, earn rewards like discounts, exclusive shows, or free shipping.
Free & Reduced Shipping - Attract buyers with shipping deals through offering fully or partially subsidize buyers' shipping by setting a default preference in Seller Hub or adjusting it per show.
Promote Tools - Drive growth through increased visibility by showcasing your live shows across Whatnot feeds. You can also track the effectiveness of your promotions and understand their impact on your business.
A Better View into Your Performance: Post-Show Metrics
Your show ends, but your connection with buyers lives on. With new post-show performance insights, you can now measure what worked, what converted, and where to optimize next time. Now, you can easily access post-show performance metrics on iOS & Android directly from the “Past” shows tab in Seller Home—including promotion performance metrics if sellers used Promote Tools.
Instead of defaulting straight into the VOD, you’ll now see clear stats for each show, including whether it was promoted. If a VOD is available, we’ll link to it right from the metrics view. Easy access to your performance data means smarter decisions, stronger shows, and better results.
We will be rolling out updates to the Promote Tools Dashboard in Seller Hub to give you a clearer, more focused view of what matters most. You’ll now see a 7-day Return-on-Spend metric (ROS) that captures post-campaign sales from users that meaningfully engaged with your promotion—helping you understand the lasting impact of your promotions. We’ve also added a tab so you can visit past Promoted shows, which let you easily analyze promotion performance metrics from past shows.
A Centralized Place for Seller-Buyer Communication: Your New Direct Messages Inbox
Simplified and easier communication between you and your buyers allows you to continue doing what you do best: focusing on your business. The new Direct Messages Inbox now resides in the top navigation, alongside Notifications and the Referral Hub. We’ve also rebuilt the messaging service behind the scenes to be more reliable and scalable for future improvements.
But it doesn’t stop there: Over the coming months, we’ll continue to invest in making the messaging experience even better for both buyers and sellers.
See it for yourself: Check out the new inbox today by sharing a show with someone you are already connected with on Whatnot.
