From an in-app shipment scanner that protects your ship time, to a smarter Home Feed that helps more buyers discover your shows, and captions that make every show more accessible, we’re continuing to build for speed, trust, and connection:

Shipment Scanner: Protect Your Ship Time and Build Buyer Trust

With the shipment scanner, you can now confirm your shipment yourself using the Whatnot app, even if a carrier doesn’t scan it.  This keeps buyers in the loop by sending them an email with photo confirmation of shipment, and helps keep your ship-time metrics accurate.

When you drop off a package, simply navigate to the fulfillment tab in the Whatnot app, tap the Confirm Drop-Off button, and scan the shipping label(s).  You can scan as many packages as you want, and with each scan taking sellers an average of two seconds, it should not add significant time to your fulfillment process. 

Here’s how it helps you:

  • Keep buyers in the loop:  Confirming packages are shipped on time builds buyer confidence in you as a seller.

  • Ensure your ship time is accurately counted:  Shipments confirmed with the in-app scanner are automatically counted towards your average ship time, just like a scan with the carrier would be.

  • Avoid unnecessary support requests and cancellations:  Providing proof of dropoff helps you avoid unnecessary questions and cancellation requests from buyers 

The shipment scanner is available to a subset of sellers on iOS and Android today.  It will be available to all sellers in all markets where Whatnot operates later this month. Learn more in our Help Center

A More Personalized Home Feed That Helps Buyers Find You

We’ve refreshed the Home Feed to make it easier for buyers to find shows and categories they care about most, and for you to get discovered by the right audience.

When someone opens the Whatnot app, they’ll now see a cleaner, more visual feed with personalized category tiles at the top that highlight the areas they browse and buy from most. These tiles connect buyers directly to the communities they love, from trading cards and collectibles to sneakers, fashion, and more.

Here’s what it means for you:

  • More qualified traffic. Buyers can jump straight into the categories that match what you sell, bringing higher-intent viewers to your show.

  • Better visibility. Category tabs act as discovery surfaces that feature your show in front of buyers exploring Whatnot.

  • Smarter scheduling. Choosing the right category when you set up your show is now even more important. It helps surface your show to the right audience from the start.

This refreshed experience is now live globally on iOS and Android, making it faster than ever for buyers to find your community the moment they open the app.

We’ve added new categories to help you reach more focused buyer communities and list your inventory more accurately.

  • Women’s Fashion: Plus Size, Dresses, Boutiques

  • Food & Drink: Baked Goods, Snacks & Candy, Other Food & Drink

  • Sports Gear: Baseball & Softball Gear

  • Antiques & Collectibles: Stamps

Each new category gives you a clearer place to connect with the right audience and grow your buyer base.

Captions for Android: Reach More Buyers, Wherever They Are

We’re expanding live captions to Android, so even more buyers can join and engage with your shows.

On iOS, captions are already used by thousands of buyers every day, proof that many viewers watch in places where they can’t use sound. Now Android viewers can follow along in real time, whether they’re on a noisy commute or in a quiet space.
