Whatnot Debuts WhatnotCon –  the World's Largest Virtual Comic Con

Comics Legends Todd McFarlane, Rob Liefeld, and Tyler Kirkham Return to Whatnot to Offer Fans One-of-a-Kind Collectibles, Including the Iconic SPAWN Funny Car

We’re putting the magic of comic conventions at the fingertips of sellers and fans worldwide – exclusively on Whatnot. From Thursday, April 11 to Sunday, April 14, the first annual WhatnotCon will bring together over 1,300 sellers and special guests offering a one-of-a-kind live shopping experience across comics, toys, LEGO, Pokémon, action figures, video games, and more.

Whatnot sellers will grow their businesses among new audiences and be part of the world's largest virtual comic con from the comfort of their home. Collectors and fans alike can shop thousands of deals from their favourite convention floor exhibitors right in the palm of their hand. No lining up to see their favourite celeb, waiting for sold-out exclusives, or missing out on tickets to a panel or live signing.

Check out a few of the must-see moments happening exclusively at WhatnotCon:

Todd McFarlane is auctioning his SPAWN Mobile

Todd McFarlane, Creator of Venom & Spawn, Co-Founder of Image Comics, and Founder of McFarlane Toys returning to Whatnot to auction off his iconic SPAWN funny car.

Built as an inoperable art piece in 1992 to showcase at conventions, the car was featured in several commercials throughout the early 90s. It was recreated as a Hot Wheel in 1994 – becoming the first-ever Hot Wheel that used four paint colours, and the first to include a window within the packaging so collectors could view both sides of the car.

To be auctioned in its original condition to a U.S. fan, the car features spooky, SPAWN-like embellishments like a steering wheel wrapped in skeleton hands, a seat modelled after Dracula’s coffin, and skeleton etchings on the windows. Place your bid and tune in to Todd’s show on April 12, where he’ll share more about the car’s history and give away Spawn Vintage Hot Wheels diecast and signed prints. The starting price for the auction will be $19.92 — a nod to the year the car was built.
