Celebrating Woman-owned Businesses on Whatnot

In celebration of Women’s History Month, we want to give a big shout-out to all the amazing women leaving their mark on the Whatnot community and celebrate their entrepreneurial spirit, boundless creativity, and sheer brilliance. In this blog post we’ll highlight the stories, achievements, and awesome contributions of a few incredible sellers on Whatnot:

888antiques is an experienced entrepreneur with over two decades of expertise in estate buying and selling and even has her own retail showroom out of Henderson, NV.

Rachel's love for jewelry drew her to Whatnot after facing many challenges with trying to sell on traditional online platforms. Even with minimal tech skills, she was able to catch on to live streaming with ease thanks to the user-friendly interface and shipping features on Whatnot that have now revolutionized her business. Rachel realizes the unique challenge of managing a business, family, and personal well-being and while she wouldn't have it any other way, she stresses the importance of effective time management, setting boundaries, and preventing burnout while pursuing your dreams.

My sales have grown 8X in the one year I have been on whatnot. It’s enabled me to grow as a business and I’ve made lifelong friends.

Esorr_ is a sneaker and streetwear seller out of Los Angeles, who was able to make selling on Whatnot her full-time career.

Inspired by the vibrant sneaker community on the platform, Rose transitioned from being a buyer to a seller and has never looked back. As a business owner, she is influenced by the perseverance of her grandmother and mother who were also independent business owners before her. Her advice to other sellers is to be consistent, surround yourself with like-minded individuals, and don’t be afraid to ask questions.

What started off as a hobby and side hustle turned into my full-time job and that wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for Whatnot.

Lodaluxe joined Whatnot as a beauty seller seven months ago but has been in the e-commerce space for four years, working out of Long Island, NY.

She was intrigued by the platform's live aspect and knew she had to join when her friend, who is a Funko seller, recommended the app to her. Her passion for luxury and makeup fueled her desire to offer discounted beauty products to others. Danielle is breaking stereotypes and leading the way for future beauty entrepreneurs, which is also what she loves about the beauty community on Whatnot because there are many other powerhouse women on the app who constantly uplift each other. She emphasizes the importance of collaboration, empowerment, and using your platform to advocate for inclusivity and positive change in business and society as a whole.

As women, we possess the power to achieve anything we set our minds to and we can never lose sight of that!

Thriftedhomeco, a proud content creator and reseller from Tennessee, balances family life and motherhood with her passion for exploring estate and yard sales for unique finds.

Reflecting on her role as a business owner, Heather recalls the significance it held when she began her photography business in 2013 – it represents being able to balance her career and family, have more control of her future, and the ability to pave her own path. She also sees it as a testament to her daughter, encouraging her to dream big and that with hard work and determination, her dreams are more than possible. Heather's advice to aspiring women entrepreneurs is to trust your instincts, take risks, and surround yourself with a supportive community.

Whatnot offers a unique space where logging in means more than transactions. Thanks to Whatnot, I’ve not only grown my business but discovered a community that feels like family.

Itsanniesvintage is a vintage and thrift seller on Whatnot who also moonlights as a successful actor, most notably in HBO's Peacemaker and the upcoming Hulu series Interior Chinatown.

Despite her success in acting, she has found immense joy in selling vintage items. She started out as a vintage collector with a passion for thrifting and a soft spot for vintage Disney shirts as she grew up close to Disneyland where she could see the fireworks from her bedroom window. Selling the items never crossed her mind; especially not on typical reselling sites. That is until she found Whatnot which allowed her to connect with people on a deeper level, express her love for each item, and foster a strong bond with her audience. For Annie, being a business owner means not only thriving personally but also having a platform to uplift others because there are more than enough seats at the table.

Being a female business owner isn’t just about yourself thriving, it’s about making sure all the women around you thrive as well.
