We’re always looking for ways to help increase the connection between you and your buyers through repeat purchase behavior, loyalty programs, and incentives that make the buying and selling experience more fun. Today, we’re excited to introduce an additional way for your community to show appreciation and spread the love.
Introducing Community Boost, a fun new way for your community to support you by amplifying the discoverability of your show. Community Boost contributions work like tips but instead count towards a mid-show promotional boost (equivalent to a Show Boost) to your show’s visibility on Whatnot.
Here is how it works:
Community Boosts Combine: A viewer or buyer can choose to give you a Community Boost contribution, which will count towards a special type of Boost that is only available for viewers or buyers to buy. Multiple buyers can contribute small amounts to pool their contributions together.
Surpassing the Threshold Activates: Once you get enough contributions to kick off a boost in the show category you are streaming in, the Boost will activate!
Bring in New Buyers: New buyers will see that you’ve received a unique type of boost in the For You Feed, Category pages, and other surfaces with a special animated show border to highlight the moment.
Community Boosts is designed to deliver the maximum number of viewers to your show in the shortest amount of time. On average, promotion tools help bring in 30% more first-time buyers to your shows.
You can take full advantage of these moments and the surge of viewership by:
Introducing yourself to new viewers about who you are and what you sell
Starting a special auction or Buy-It-Now item to a larger audience
Running a unique giveaway to encourage new viewers to follow you
We’ll begin beta testing and gathering feedback from select sellers this month before rolling out in September and October.
Teamwork Made Easier with Team Permissions
As your business grows on Whatnot, you may need to hire employees to help with operations and provide access to your account. Our upcoming Team Permissions feature is designed to make this process safer and more efficient, allowing you to manage your team with confidence.
Currently, sharing account credentials with employees to grant access also exposes sensitive business information and actions, including sales, payouts, shipping, and messages. As your business scales and more individuals use your account, it increases the risk of errors that could hurt your business.
Our granular permissions system allows you to compartmentalize access, giving you control over what each team member can see and do. This not only heightens trust but also enables you to scale your operations by adding more employees with confidence. Here’s how Team Permissions benefit you:
Add and Manage Team Members: Easily add new team members and assign roles with specific permissions, like streaming or responding to customers.
Secure Access: Team members can sign up or sign in on Whatnot and accept their invite, without needing your account credentials.
Flexible Account Management: Team members can switch among multiple Whatnot accounts, with appropriate access controls for each account.
Action Logging: Keep track of all actions taken by team members on your behalf, which is useful for auditing and reporting purposes.
